Ocala police responded to a 911 call on March 7, and found a pregnant woman
stabbed more than thirty times by her husband’s uncle.
Jill Feingold, the stabbing victim, told the 911 dispatcher her husband’s
uncle, Samuel Clone II, had entered her bedroom and repeatedly stabbed
her with a kitchen knife. According to
NBC-2.com, the victim “was breathing heavily” when she called 911 and
told the dispatcher to “hurry up…I’m covered in blood”
and stated she was “surprised I’m not dead.” Feingold
is 22 weeks pregnant.
When officers arrived on the scene of the crime, Cone was walking down
the driveway of the home and was taken into custody by police.
Det. Mat Steckman of the Ocala Police Department, said the attack apparently
stems from a dispute over who will inherit Cone’s mother’s
estate. When arrested by police, Cone told the officers, “I’m
sorry for all this … they took all I had.”
The 59-year-old man was charged with attempted second-degree murder and
was booked into the Marion County Jail without bond. The Marion County
Sheriff’s website shows this latest arrest is Cone’s seventh
arrest since 2000.
Feingold, 40, underwent surgery in Ocala after the Monday attack and was
then transferred to Shands at the University of Florida in Gainesville,
where she and the unborn baby are listed in critical condition.
